Dexter Township, Michigan

In response to taxpayer request, Dexter Township has arranged for Official Payments Corp (OPC) to serve as the processing center for tax payments by credit card or electronic check. This service is safe, reliable, and in accordance with all state and government regulations. In order to process your payment, OPC charges a convenience fee (processing fee) based on the type of transaction.  Currently the convenience fee is 3% for credit card payments and $5.00 for payment by electronic check. 

 This charge will appear as a separate line item on your credit card bill or bank statement.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYING TAXES USING A CREDIT CARD OR 
ELECTRONIC CHECK

Summer taxes may be paid by credit card or e-check between 
July 1, 2007 and February 29, 2008.

Winter taxes may be paid by credit card or e-check between 
December 1, 2007 and February 29, 2008.

After February 29, 2008 this service may not be used for payment of current year taxes.

When you contact Official Payments Corp., by phone or on their website, you will be asked to enter information such as:

Type of payment (i.e. taxes)

The parcel number of the property for which taxes are being paid

Your credit card or bank information

The amount of taxes being paid

The system will respond with the following:

Tell you the tax and fee amounts and the total amount of your payment

Request your approval for the charge

Provide a confirmation number – Write it down as a record of your payment
